PLAN RED FLAG!
10' or Higher Ceilings with 6' vs 7' Casements?
Modern ceiling heights are typically 10' to 12', with windows often placed all the way to the ceiling. But when plans show a 7' tall casement window, it’s a red flag—because very few manufacturers test casements over 3' x 6'.
If you’ve got 11' ceilings and a 7' casement, it could end up 4' off the floor—which won’t meet egress requirements and could derail approvals late in the game.
